Berlin Egg Hunt | Permanent Event

Just wanted to say thank you to the person that discovered the sniper rifle on top of the radio tower, this one item adds so much replayability to the Egg Hunt.

I had a very messy first run through this escalation, especially Level 3, but it was fun. I echo the sentiments expressed by other members though. It’s a shame that with so much effort gone into changing the map that we aren’t truly able to just freely explore or have any meaningful challenges to go along with it. I’ll give it another go before the event is over, however. I liked the atmosphere, and killing that final white rabbit was ever so satisfying.

So I tried getting the sniper rifle in the tower. It was interesting trying the special bullets in sandbox mode, I never did it with the arctic rifle.

Kinda like an easter egg inside an easter egg, eh?

So which of the big eggs contain an item? is it true they only open with yellow egs? I tried for a bit, but haven’t found anything.

So, it’s the start of Easter weekend. Best time to play this escalation, and so I did!

Thoughts:

  • Wow, this free piece of bonus content is impressive in how much was added/changed. Nearly every NPC now wears a bunny mask (even the bartenders under their balaclava), there’s quite a few new voice lines added, plus not to mention the large amount of egg, chicken, and bunny-related props that have appeared.
  • The use of eggs as little emetic, sedative and lethal bombs was nice. It definitely makes this escalation pretty easy in how to take care of NPCs in your way, but this is exclusive to this level, so that’s fine. (any use for the Yellow Eggs? They only seem to be the substitute for coins in this.)
  • Killing the targets with eggs in Level 3 (or knocking out guards near the party area) really messed up some NPCs pathing. The guards would all patrol the party area as enforcers, the Pink and Blue bunnies wouldn’t go to their isolated areas because they’d constantly get scared from the guards moving around. It’s a bit of an annoying issue, but I eventually got it to work fine all in one run.
  • I really wish this were a normal bonus mission or special assignment, if only to give us more freedom of choice in how to play this contract. It would be great to poison one of the targets as a bartender or bring in some more useful tools. (at the very least, we should have the no disguise restriction removed)
  • I’m glad to see that the main, lucrative rewards for this piece of content unlocks after completing all three levels rather than just the first (like the other Deluxe escalations have done). Should give more incentive to people to see each stage rather than quit after the first.
I do wish the Raver suit came with the bunny mask. It’s not like you can use the suit with this escalation anyway, (potentially giving you an edge in getting into the party on Level 1).
  • This escalation definitely made me realise we should get a sedative grenade for the main mission. It would be illegal to throw or carry like it’s emetic cousin, but having that chance to sedate 2-3 NPCs at a time with it if need be would be great.

Just figured something out I’m incredible proud of. You can kill the White Rabbit in Level 3 before he teleports to the area with the ICA agents. If he spawns at the channel you can shot him with a gun while he tries to run behind the tank to do his disappearing trick. He took several bullets to go down, but it felt satisfying nonetheless.

My go to method in that same area is to place a battery in the puddle and he’ll walk right into it.

I really enjoyed it as well :grinning:

IOI have done a great job with this Easter hunt event. At least we got some cool unlocks as well, including the new suit unlock.

How is everyone getting that Sniper Rifle?

They’re specifically ‘solid’ , green or red ones. Like no glowy effects or whatever. They’re all similarly striped. Anything can break them, you can throw a brick at it, as long as you throw it from far enough and at an angle so it makes an impact. Shoot it with a gun if you want.
One of the eggs got broken by an npc dragging a bodybag into that point for me.

Most important egg is the one if you go into the restricted area to the left of the club behind the two guards, red egg that contains Silverballer silenced MK II

Other than that near the crane you can get a fuse cell

Othat than that it’s mostly rusty screwdriver or a red egg that comes to mind.

One thing that bothers me is the game registers your outfit as a ‘starting suit’ and the security guard will tell you to shoo because you’re not in a ‘mask’ fitting the theme. So if you go get the sniper rifle you’ll need to get around him.

when you start (in level 2 or 3) go to the bunny that you got the suit from in level 1, knock him out, change outfit, and he will drop “The Butcher” outfit. You will fail immediately but you can see the bag of clothes he drops says “Butcher”

Possible tease from IOI?

This was discovered by community member known as sneaknator on twitch, also known as weed or weednator. Great find!!!

maybe here’s a way to wear the butcher suit in the easter egg event? maybe, but doubt since there’s a immediate fail condition.

That sniper rifle smell as a future unlock.

I doubt they put infinite wallbang back in as an unlock. I think explosive rounds as a separate rifle could be okay or a single wallbang if they can figure that out but infinite wallbang is too much.

Hidden Butcher Disguise - Berlin Egg Hunt - Hitman 3 - YouTube

Seems like the disguise is only named “The Butcher”.

The Butcher (an actual butcher not a bunny) has been in the game since the 1st patch after launch. We first assumed it was for the Berlin Deluxe escalation. Now we are assuming it is for The Seven Deadly Sins. I think we should throw a party? A friend, Meat King is always ready to host a party.

cool, thanks for capturing it.

I think it’s just a tease for what’s to come considering it has already been leaked before

how did you not fail the mission immediately though?

This mission made me realise how much of a pain it is to have lock-on “grenades”. It’s annoying whenever I had to use an egg only for it to either not triggering the intended effect since it knocks the npc to the ground (emetic) or making every npc near me become witnesses when I intended to throw an egg next to someone.

It’s kind of strange, if you start the escalation in that bunnyman costume, guard won’t treat you like you’re dressed for the theme. Putting on bunnyman’s outfit probably does nothing because it’s the allowed starting suit in one part of the code. Now, the issue is, the bunnyman does not drop that suit, that’s you, during the changing into the other suit you drop your original.
Pretty sure IO just messed up with linking which ID suit you wear upon startup.

Modding.

Had fun with it. Here are my 3 runs.

Would be cool to see the Eggs as an unlock, not sure about the lethal one :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: but they should make it illegal to throw them to balance it out

Surely this has got to be a tease for ‘Gluttony’ DLC as part of the seven deadly sins?

Even the title is a hint to a Meat Kings Party so surely that’s a hint at the suit we’ll get? :crossed_fingers:

Meat King would also fit lust, given what was going on in that level.
